Effects Of Smoking, Alcohol Consumption, And Drug Abuse On Human Health

Date

We all have been familiar that alcohol consumption, smoking, and drug abuse negatively impact human health. Unfortunately, many of us are unaware of its dangerous effects. How badly it upsets the functioning of the human body. How badly it makes one a psychiatric patient. This article will have a deep look at the adverse impacts of alcohol, smoking, and drug abuse on human health. Let us discuss the adverse effects of each of the things mentioned earlier one by one.

Smoking

We have been listening from childhood that smoking is harmful to health. But have we ever tried to know the reason that why smoking is dangerous to health? A single cigarette has nearly 4000 carcinogens (cancer-causing agents).

These carcinogens initiate an uncontrollable and abnormal mutation of cells. Many of us only know that smoking can cause lung cancer. Here, again, we are deficient in the adverse effects of smoking. Smoking does not cause lung cancer only. Yet, smoking can cause oral cancer, throat cancer, stomach cancer.

Unfortunately, the youth of the world is stepping towards this fatality whose only result is death. Smoking also reduces the lung's oxygen-carrying capacity, which makes a person deficient in required sufficient oxygen.

And without enough oxygen, it is hard for the person to breathe normally. In the present era, not only men are reserved for smoking. In fact, several women, youth, and children have been seen smoking publically.

Alcohol Consumption:

We have seen mostly on our televisions while watching any show which is showing a drinking person. A sentence has been seen on the screen “Drinking is injurious to health.” Yet, none of us bothered that what is the reason behind this?

A person who alcoholic and consumes alcohol without any restriction begins to lose consciousness. He lost control over his body and started making blunders in unconsciousness. This is a very dangerous situation. In such situations, a person can commit several crimes, like attempting murder. An alcoholic person can harm anyone without knowing.

It does not directly affect him mentally, but it has severe adverse effects on a person physically.

Drug Abuse:

Unfortunately, the youth of the present era worldwide have become addicted to several drugs that cause severe addiction. Such drugs make them emotional fools by affecting their mental health and capacity.

These drugs let them think that drugs are the only thing left that could save them, but actually, drugs are destroying them. A drug abuser becomes so addicted to these drugs that they can even kill someone or sometimes even themselves to fulfil the requirements of their drugs.

Such people completely go crazy and do unpredictable things, which they have no idea. All the above mentioned are the negative aspects of the raising problems of the world. These issues are not limited and show their negativities to men and women and children or younger ones.

Proper counselling and rehabilitation are required to treat such people and to avoid such situations further.
